Ford Crown Victoria

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010)
The Crown Victorias are great cars. Not bad-looking, as some people want to suggest! And after all, a police car is not there to make a fashion statement.

I would go for the Charger now. The Taurus is FWD. It looks ok, but it still is FWD and the Charger has already been there for a time, police officers are already familiar with it.

Really a shame that Ford discontinued the Panther platform. These were great cars.

How about 'just answering WITHOUT insulting'? No need for you to call me a newbie. But thanks for having revealed so much about yourself to me.

Is it fun to drive? and can you actually leave the cars and walk around as a pedestrian (like in the GTA series)?

Then who told you it was a flop?

RWD is ok if you know how to handle it. The bigger Mercedes and BMW sedans still have RWD instead of FWD. The police of the US has used RWD cars for at least the last 40 years, and there never were any issues with that.

@ crown vic guy br : I totally agree with you, it is a sad thing they discontinued that car. The Taurus is nothing like the CV, the Taurus is just odd-looking, ugly and Tauruses were always ridiculed when they were used as police cars, it was always the second choice behin the CV (if it was a choice at all) - In earlier times, when movie makers could not afford the CV, they used old Tauruses instead.

Taxi drivers and police men grieve, too. The CV was the ideal work horse. Although there come newer ones now, I am sure that no car will ever again be as robust, goodlooking, cheap to repair and long-lasting like the Crown Victoria and its siblings Town Car and Grand Marquis.

Cadillac´s biggest flop since the Allanté!

You are completely wrong on that, where did youget that from?

I agree with sandwad and carcrasher, the DTS is a great car. Very reliable, nice materials inside. Not as common as Town Cars with limousine fleets, but still often chaffeured.

ominusdude does not use the right means to bring his message across but he has a point: a 1993 model would not be possible in 1992. However, the car is clearly a 1993+ built because the rear wheels are no longer covered by the car's body (unlike in 1991 and 1992 where they used to be covered partially).
